WPM 3.0 SOFTWARE
Reddwerks was formed in 2003 to address the ever-increasing and costly business gap between warehouse management system (WMS) and warehouse control system (WCS) solutions.
Logistic and manufacturing companies today face increased shipping costs, more demanding service level agreements, and a multitude of performance initiatives. These same facilities are also asked to support the internal business and technology initiatives required for Internet, corporate, and global growth. At first, balancing these requirements sounds easy enough. However, because available WMS and WCS solutions have not kept pace with business demands during the past 30 years, true warehouse performance and flexibility is difficult to achieve.
Lack of innovation, low investment, and increased availability of hardware technologies all guarantee that the gap will continue to grow between aging WMS and WCS solutions, translating into increased capital, operating, and project costs to companies. In addition to higher costs, the feature gap between WMS and WCS layers has created inflexible, proprietary, and fragile operating environments that increase corporate risk and reduce competitive advantage.
Reddwerks 3.0 WPM Suite
Reddwerks Warehouse Performance Management (WPM) Suite completes the warehouse system architecture and provides five key advantages:
- A Single Equipment Interface: Our Universal Equipment Interface (UEI) technology controls and directs order processing workflows and labor independently of the hardware technology used. Through its PTL, voice, RF, mobile (WinCE, WinMobile), carrousels, conveyor, A-frame, and ASR interfaces, our workflow engine directs workers and equipment to process orders in the most efficient manner. Our UEI layer can even interface directly with vendor-specific hardware protocols if necessary, eliminating the need for multiple software vendors and order processing silos. Our UEI layer is the first in the industry to allow real-time cross technology workflows, tracking, and routing. Our unique technology provides customers with a single interface from the WMS to warehouse equipment and labor.
- Real-time Order Processing: Our order processing engine and workflows work through our UEI layer to provide real-time flexibility and transparency. Orders are no longer processed in technology silos; they can now be passed seamlessly between users, areas, and technologies in real-time. Our order processing applications provide powerful order planning and profiling, labor management and tracking, exception handling and real-time overrides, as well as detailed user and order audit features. Other order processing modules include order planning, profiling, routing, cubing, picking, stocking, QC, packing, palletizing, labor management, and shipping workflows.
- Real-time Analytics: Reddwerks is the first solution to bring real-time OLAP data mart reports to the warehouse. Our solution's unique analytic services move data in real-time as orders are picked, QCed, packed, and shipped. Each person, task, container, line item, technology, work area, and order down to each scan, weight, and button press is tracked and recorded. These metrics are aggregated automatically in our data mart and provide business users with real-time access to labor, throughput, accuracy, and facility metrics for dashboarding and trending. Our data mart leverages standard STAR schema methodologies to provide customer business users and IT groups with reporting flexibility through any standard business intelligence (BI) tool including Business Objects, Business Objects Crystal Reports, Cognos ReportNet, and Actuate. Business users can run real-time daily, monthly, and quarterly trending reports without impacting warehouse performance. Strong real-time analytic reports and features insure warehouse performance is visible to management at any time from anywhere through our 100% web-based portal.
- Flexible Integration and Security: To provide customers with multiple choices and full adaptability when integrating into existing systems, we provide our integration and security framework. Our integration framework supports full transaction recovery and adaptability through FTP, socket, XML, web-services, IBM MQ, and JMS interfaces. In addition to the data transport layers, our solution integrates to corporate LDAP systems to provide IT departments with a single security model and eliminates the need to maintain another third-party application user database.
- Multiple Platforms: Our solution is based on the latest technology standards and supports MS Windows, Unix, AIX, and Linux operating systems, as well as all of the leading database platforms: MS SQL, Oracle, Informix, DB2, MySQL, and MaxDB.
Reddwerks 3.0 WPM Suite represents a significant leap forward for the industry and the warehouse.
