Talk your way through the day

With Reddwerks voice-based selecting, workers wear mobile computers that can be equipped with headphones and a microphone. Selectors hear instructions read to them, and respond by speaking to the computer. Each worker trains a mobile computer to understand his or her voice, so spoken responses are properly translated back to the WMS.

Since the system works using natural speech, training time is short—most selectors are up and running in minutes. The dialogue between the selector and computer can include product location, number of items to select, shorts, splits, items stocked, and other functions typically performed in a distribution center.

It’s all done by speaking and listening to the mobile device, which eliminates the need for paper pick lists—and eliminating paper has both environmental and cost benefits.

Speak with Reddwerks today about how a voice-based selecting solution can help you and your workers:

  • Improve productivity: Since workers are speaking and listening while selecting, their focus is selecting, not reading screens.
  • Reduce implementation and operation costs: Training costs are low, and more productive selectors translate into increased profit.
  • Increase order accuracy: Selectors’ instructions and responses are confirmed and corrected immediately.
